'Romancing the Heart' is not a film score but a collection of beautiful,
romantic themes and music written by Joanne Paratore with film an television in mind. This commercial release is an ideal showcase for the composer's talent and will no doubt act as fine promotional aide. The music is performed by the composer on the piano, along with Susan Craig Winsberg on the flute , to stunning effect.
Joanne Paratore's music is very special and highly romantic. The compositions have a familiarity that makes them instantly feel like an old friend. All the cues are piano solos, except 'Esparanza', which has a
haunting flute accompaniment. It is difficult to single out individual tracks as they are all excellent, but the 'Italian Love Song' is a particularly lovely tune with a wonderful 'hook' that sticks in the memory for days. 'I'll Always Love You' is poignant, yet graceful. Similarly 'Goodby My Love' and 'Where are you Now?' are graceful, elegant tunes that bring a tear to the eye. Miss Paratore already has released a dozen CDs both as a solo artist and with her two brothers, Anthony and Joseph. However, 'Romancing the Heart' seems to have that added sparkle which often comes with a composer performing her own compositions.
